 Rosalbab Hi, On July 29, 2003, I lost my brother Nick to breast cancer. He was a fighter and an inspiration to me and to so many people. His faith in God and his will to live was amazing. He was a believer of what our eyes cannot see. He had faith, not fear. As he took his last breath, he took a piece of my heart with him. Saying goodbye to my brother was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. His death will not be in vain...his fight and journey on earth is over...but mine is just beginning. I read the patient information that came with my Tamaxifin prescription and it says pain in the legs and dizziness can be a side effect. What should I do?

 laine Foti  Brooklyn, NY USA - Sunday, April 18, 2004 at 08:22:01 (PDT)ok..just tonite i have had some pain in my pectoral region behind my nipple., there is a lump there too..it hurts so bad...i remember this happening when i was 14 but it went away....i do work out abit...but am not very toned or muscular...is this my body still changin or is there a possibility i have male breast cancer or another serious disorder....i feel stoopid sending this but its hurtin alot so it must be serious...can somebody please email my email or something if anyone has a spare second if anyone has seen a doctor about it and knows what it is?? i will go to a doctor if it does not go away...it was not there this morning its not 3am and is hurtin bad..the lump is evident too:

My maternal cousin (son of my mother's twin) just died of cancer at a very young age. I've had a lump on my chest for a year. I've ignored it and thought it would just go away. I even knew about male breast cancer. Thank you. I'm going to get checked.

     This website is wonderful. My own father lost his battle with male breast cancer in Nov. 2000. He was 76 years old. We dearly miss him. My sister and I have tons of video and taped interviews and newspaper articles and TV new stories about my dad and his small group of other men in the Portland, Oregon area who were all victims of male breast cancer. We are looking to donate any information necessary if there is someone out there who would be doing a documentary on this very important subject. Also if anyone is writing a paper on this subject we can help there too with an abundance of information.      I have a question concerning nipple pain on my left nipple. It started maybe 6 wks ago but wasn't severe. It seemed to come and go but never would be gone completely. When I squeeze it to see if discharge comes out(NONE)or if I feel or lightly squeeze the area looking for a lump of any size(NONE)the pain is much worse the following day almost like I inflamed the area by touching it. I can grap my breast firmly with my hand and have no pain but I can lightly touch or tap my nipple and I get much pain. The pain is definitely under my nipple and it is not from exterior irritation I'm sure. I am overweight (5' 7" 195lbs) but am on a diet and I am successfully losing weight. My breast are somewhat large due to flab and zero exercise. Yes my brother asks me what size bra I wear and then laughs. I am 39 years old and have a very slow sedentary lifestyle and slow metabolism as I sit at a computer for work all day. I am trying to change this.      I am so scared right now. I am an 18 year old freshman in college. A little while ago, I discovered some slight soreness in my left breast. I went to see someone at the school health services building and she said that it was from lifting weights, but for some reason I don't really think that's what it is. I looked on the Internet and read about this condition called gynecomastia. It's a condition where a disc or button shaped non-cancerous growth has developed underneath the areola. I was wondering if that's what it is, because there is a disc like grtowth there now, and if it is, is it supposed to be painful.

​     I am so glad I found your web site. While male breast cancer is rare.. Support for this seems ever more rare. My husband has recently found a large lump under his right nipple. It's been driving him nuts since back last summer but he just recently started to experience some pain. It's real touchie. He is just starting the test, etc. The dr. has already said.."this is a cancer, we just have to identify the type, and get the test done quickly".. He is going to have to use a VA medical center as we have no other insurance. Thank God they seem to be taking it seriously. This lump is the size of my little finger...irregular shaped..and quite firm... does not move at all...

     I am 14 and I am a guy. Heres the catch - I have large nipples and they're 2 inches wide. what do i do? I can't even ask a girl out much less tan or go swimming. it's ruining my life. what do i do?

     Hello: I am doing a research paper on male breast cancer and would like some help finding additional information. I was very surprised after going to an oncology clinic in the county where I live only to find that there was no literature available on this subject. I am a medical professional who feels that this is a subject that needs a lot more recognition and feel that men should know that this disease can affects them also.

     My dad has been diagnosed, for a second time with breast cancer today. He first was diagnosed 2 yrs ago. He had his left breast completely removed and went through 6 treatments of chemo. Now it is back. I want to educate myself on this disease for men. Can you send me any literature? I would greatly appreciate it.

Well the last time I wrote was January 18, 2002. Eleven days after I wrote that message my father passed away. I have had time to heal and accept the fact he is gone. This should have never happend. Had my father known that he should preform self exams he might be alive today. It is sad that so many people are affected by this. My father had hopes and dreams like everyone else and this tragedy ended his life and stunned his family.

     I have read your subscriber's letters and found them very similiar to my sitiutation. About 10 years ago I noticed a lump in my right breast. When I had my physical I told the doctor and he checked it. His response, "nothing to worry about". So as a good patient I forgot about it. Well 10 years later at 55 the lump is now three times the size it was and there seems to be a lymph node swollen under my right arm. I have already had the mammography and had an appointment today to see where we go from here. I was an administrator for a medical family practice in Ohio and I did know that men could get breast cancer...I guess my shortcoming was that I did not know my physician wasn't as up to day as I was. Unfortunately I never asked for a biopsy or to have the lump removed so now we wait and see if my procrastination has cost me my life.      My husband came to me last night asking if men could get breast cancer. I said yes, why do you ask? That is when he asked me to feel the lump he found on his right breast. It is above the nipple, approximately 2-3cm in size that I can tell. He says there is no pain with it, but this is the first time he has ever felt the lump. I told him it may be a cyst but that he should see a doctor. I have spent the last few hours reading up on it and the more I read the more I see I need to be insistant on him seeing a doctor. His issue is we don't have insurance so he refuses to create any medical bills because we are barely making it now. If anyone can suggest where to find assistance for someone in our sitation I would greatly appreciate the help. I am really worried because he was told about six years ago he had spots on his lungs then. Any help anyone can give would be accepted and followed.

     My dad has Stage 4 breast cancer. He has to have a vascular port put in, he has lung nodules that seem to be spreading. I don't know what to do to help him.

The late- Mr. John W. Nick died from breast cancer June 11,  1991, at the age of 58.
