The pink and blue ribbon used by the John W. Nick Foundation was first created in 1996 by Nancy Nick to let people know that "Men Get Breast Cancer Too!"
In 1997, the Foundation held a fashion show "Not for Women Only" in Vero Beach, Florida using this as a theme. The Local United States Marines attended the fashion show. The Marines and the John W. Nick Foundation, Inc. held the pink and blue ribbon and shouted, "Men Get Breast Cancer Too." From that time, the Foundation has continued to use the pink and blue ribbon as a symbol of this message.
The Foundation encourages other breast cancer organizations and anyone else interested to raise awareness of Male Breast Cancer to use this ribbon. However:
1) The image must not be modified.
2) The ribbon needs to be linked to our home page: www.malebreastcancer.org.
3) It should be acknowledged somewhere on the web page as the symbol of John W. Nick Foundation, Inc.

This poem was written by a man from New York. With his permission we would like to share it with you.
Masquerade
I see my struggle when I look in the mirror
At my body, sore and tender
Yet another dose of reality making it all seem clearer
My strength tested for as long as I can remember
I rely on my strong sense of pride
And with my head held high and proud
I challenge this journey with mighty stride
To escape the curse of this painful shroud
As time goes on we hold fast to our stand
With our voices soaring high
The end of this masquerade is close at hand
Our fight continues-another day going by
It doesn't discriminate so I'm as strong as I can
The silence is over from your fellow Man.
(This poem is dedicated to all the quiet stories of men who suffer from Breast Cancer. The silent victims of this horrific disease need not be ashamed or emasculated, but rather stand united on the front to eradicate Breast Cancer with our more recognized fighters.)
