Dear Friends:
It has been 18 years since my father, John Nick, died of breast cancer and to this day we still hear the same thing from our men, “I DID NOT KNOW I COULD GET BREAST CANCER. THANK YOU [Nick Foundation] FOR ALL THAT YOU ARE DOING.”
We have been attending Breast Cancer Symposiums and Health Fairs, and in May we joined the Susan G. Komen Twin Cities Race for the Cure® in Minnesota. It was here that we proudly introduced our first “Blue Team” in the “Sea of Pink.” GO BLUE!
The Nick Foundation has been surviving on a small budget during these bad economic times -- but we never give up. Our informational materials and awareness items are in high demand but we can’t fill all the requests. We are invited to one event after another throughout the country but have trouble getting there due to lack of funds. We realize that times are difficult for everyone, but we are asking you to please donate to this very worthy cause. It doesn’t matter how big or small your donation is because EVERY PENNY WILL COUNT. As we have mentioned in the past, “CASH IS KING,” and it can do so much.
To keep our doors open we are working hard to raise money and have become very creative. Back-to-back online auctions through cMarket.com have brought in modest funds. If you have any items, Travel Points, Plane Tickets, or anything else we could auction off, please call me at 772-589-1440, or email me at nancy.nick@ malebreastcancer.org. We would also appreciate your participation in our auctions at www.malebreastcancer.cmarket.com.
A Board of Directors meeting was held June 22, 2009 and we now have three Male Breast Cancer survivors on our Board. Read our “Mission” statement and learn more about our "Board of Directors.”
John W. Nick Foundation is the one and only Male Breast Cancer Foundation in the world offering breast cancer information for men and women alike. Thank you in advance for helping us continue our very important and worthy cause: saving lives by educating the world that MEN GET BREAST CANCER TOO. To the world of Male Breast Cancer Awareness, YOUR SUPPORT IS VITAL.
With many thanks,
Nancy E. Nick
Founder/President/CEO

NYC Half-Marathon - For Dad !

August 5, 2007
Official Time: 2:25:37
Running my first NYC Half-Marathon in honor of my Dad was one of the biggest highlights of my life ! It goes without saying that my Dad's spirit was with me every step of the way, but in addition, I was incredibly moved and motivated by the outpouring of love and support from so many people from around the World, some of whom never even met my Dad, but felt compelled to send emails with their beautiful sentiments. A special thank you goes out to those who so generously donated to JWNF for Male Breast Cancer Awareness.
You were all running with me that day !
My next run ... Charlotte, NC, Thunder Road Half-Marathon, December 8, 2007
