I had my mastectomy at age 50, then underwent four sessions of chemotherapy. I'm just happy that my oncologist reviewed the pathology reports from my surgery and said, "No need for radiation"! Life goes on.

I just wanted you to know that the mass was removed today, and it was benign. Thank God. I have a new appreciation for life, talented doctors, and women's terror at the thought of breast cancer. Thank you John W. Nick FoundatIon for thinking of me and offering me support and information. Fondly, Michael

Thank you for sharing your stories. I noticed pain in my left breast, had a ultrasound & mamography which revealed a 1" mass, and will have surgery in 3 days. I am only 35 yrs and feel too young for this. Yet I know others have survived, and hopefully I will too. Sincerely, Michael Wellner

I just came across your website. I was reading the stories & my eyes filled with tears. It's nice to know you are not alone. In April of 1998, I found a painful lump in my right breast. I ignored it because I just didn't think it was anything to worry about. THe lump grew & by June, it was very apparent that something waas wrong. There was no drainage, just pain & a huge right breast. I went to my doctor about it & he sent me to a specialist, who advised me that "If it ain't supposed to be there, we need to get it out." So we did. Thankfully, the mass the size of a golfball was benign, no chemo needed. But the thoughts that went through my mind: Will it be malignant? What happens next? Will there be more surgery? Then it hit me; that's what women think when they fear a breast cancer diagnosis. It has really changed my perspective on the "difference" between men & women. I beleieve now the only cancer a man can't have is ovarian or uterine, and a woman testicular. Other than that, there IS no difference between men & women when it comes to cancer.

Happy Holidays! I love your site. I'm spending the holidays on one of those las vegas vacations and guess what, I'm putting on my bridal shoes and having one of those classic las vegas weddings tomorrow. These las vegas vacation packages are great and the vegas hotels are incredible. Nevada_James@hotmail.com.

To Londra and Jamie below. I think it's more of a Los Angeles plastic surgery thing then a general Califonria issue. I find that we have a lasik new york issue here. We have quite a few laser eye surgery new york converts. It's like people are afraid to wear glasses anymore. Oh well I love my fellow New Yorkers with or without glasses. Maybe you two should move to New York! speaking of moving do you know a good immigration attorney . Either I need to improve vocabulary or increase vocabulary because I can't communicate with my US immigration lawyer .

To Londra below (it is a down to earth site), I couldn’t agree more. I work in Los Angeles and there is a plastic surgeon in our building. In my office alone I know people who have had liposuction a tummy tuck and a face lift . I also know a lasik surgeon who tries to convince everyone he meets to throw out their glasses and get lasik and laser vision correction . People are so vain. Anyhow, let’s respect this guest book and commiserate about living in LA offline. Email me at jamieyellowfeather@hotmail.com.

Thank you for producing such a down to earth site. I recently moved to Los Angeles California and can’t believe how many superficial people I have met. I think they should rename the state plastic surgery California or cosmetic surgery California . Excuse me for saying this but I have never seen so many breast implants . There are all kinds of breast enhancement surgery: breast enlargement breast augmentation even breast reduction it’s crazy.
