New!

December 9-13, 2009 we attended the 32nd Annual San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (for the 6th consecutive year) at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, San Antonio, Texas, USA.  The event is “an international scientific symposium for interaction and exchange among basic scientists and clinicians in breast cancer."

The 2009 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) is presented by the CTRC, AACR, and the Baylor College of Medicine. The driving force behind this collaboration is the shared mission of the organizations to advance progress against breast cancer. By combining their respective strengths, the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium encompasses the full spectrum of breast cancer research and facilitates the rapid transition of new knowledge into improved care for breast cancer patients.

This is the largest conference in the world for interaction and exchange among scientists and clinicians in breast cancer (over 8,000 worldwide attendees). For the past five (5) years the Nick Foundation has had the ONLY booth for male breast cancer awareness.

A special thank you to the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium for their continued sponsorship and to JWNF Board member Edward (EJ) Wilson for making it happen and for attending, along with Nancy Nick.

San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium

San Antonio, TX

December 8-11, 2005

The John W. Nick Foundation received a sponsored booth and eight attendance tickets from the Breast Cancer Symposium in San Antonio, Texas.

We had an exhibit with information on Male Breast Cancer, a large poster of a cancer survivor, our pink and BLUE ribbon, and website print-outs.

1,000 Brochures were sponsored by Walgreens, through our coin banks (which were in stores in South and North Florida).

4,000 Fact Sheets were printed and handed out. These were sponsored by Edward Wilson and Nancy Nick.

In 1990 there were 526 registrants at this conference. The 2004 conference had 6,810 registrants. Renowned experts from around the world were in attendance at the 2005 Symposium, and the Nick Foundation had the only booth dedicated to male breast cancer.
